AshesPeople are like cigarettes burning to their last Hoping to become more than only ashAshes
riding bikes and riding cars looking to the stars hoping to see what we can finally be
have we become more than only ash? can we become more than only ash?
the lights in the city are brighter than the stars but the lights aren't as pretty as the ones up by mars
sitting by the fireside with nothing in my mind the logs are burning fast reminds me of my past
have I become more than only ash? can I

Slowly Snaking Swirls of Smokeslowly snaking swirls of smoke surround my head remind me that I'll soon be deadSlowly Snaking Swirls of Smoke
riding on the sunset we crossed into night
and I looked into my head to see if everything was alright
sometimes I close my eyes and pretend that I'm blind So I know the things I find are worth my time

Green Grass GrowingThe old man of eighteen saw the green grass growing as the only escape of the lonely cityscapeGreen Grass Growing
The dark saturday rain comes and comes and so must the man for there are no unanswered questions left inside to vex him
So the child walked into the wild looking for a god and as the sky started snowing saw only the green grass growing

Hemlock TonicI stumbled out after the rain.Hemlock Tonic
Flipped off the streetlamp;
the only people who see
it shine wish it wouldn't.
A spitting image of a man
I used to know lay in the
shadows. Dead.
He looked at me and I
took this note from his
outstretched grip:
If I had a dollar for
every woman who loved me
I'd owe you one dollar.
I slid his eyes shut
and I sat down beside him.
I took a swig of his tonic
and held out my hand
for the next poor
bastard to join us.

Traveling man.Grown bored of sleep,Traveling man.
he beat his alarm
to waking. And so he
sets to conquer the day.
Anxious in its grasp,
his things take to pack.
But only so much will
allot to carry on.
The world at his fingers
in miniature keys.
What to do with idle
moments loading the page?
All in a hurry, the
traveling man, to catch
a plane that leaves
every hour.
